Let's stop diabetes together!

2013 Call to CongressI'm sure you don't know, but both my 5 year old daughter and 5 year old niece have type 1 diabetes (the type that is not caused by the foods you eat or being overweight - the kind that you HAVE to take shots).  It is a very life changing disease.  My tiny girls have to be poked to check their blood sugar at least 5 (usually much more) times a day and get shots of insulin at least 4 times a day, or anytime they eat any food with carbohydrates in it.  When we go out to eat we often have to guess the carbohydrates in the food they eat because restaurants rarely have the nutrition information.  Camps and preschools don't know how to deal with diabetes and won't except the girls & they can't have sleep overs or go to their friends houses. Please help by sending a letter to congress to help stop diabetes.  It's a simple letter, already written for you (there is a place to add your own personal letter, but you don't have to).  Please take 2 minutes to help stop diabetes and help Naomi and Sadi.

  1. I met you and your lovely family when you came to adopt our puppy, Echo. From you email right away I could feel the warmth. Then when we met in person, each of your genuineness and sweet spirit was confirmed. I had no idea the sweet little girl crawling around on the living room floor with Echo in chase was diabetic, with such a mountain ahead of her and your family. I wish God's blessings on Naomi, Xandra, Donavon, and you, and now Echo, too who has joined your family. I'm glad she has found such a good home. Sending that letter to Congress now.--Linda M.
